John 6:40-42

⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life. And I will raise him up on the Last Day.”

⁴¹ So the Jews started grumbling about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” ⁴² They asked, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? So how can he say,^[a] ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
